After twelve sold out albums over the past three years, The Black Jacket Symphony returns to WorkPlay to celebrate its third anniversary with three albums in three nights—Thursday, June 7th, Friday, June 8th, and Saturday, June 9th. The Black Jacket Symphony is revisiting some of the biggest fan favorites with encore performances of The Beatles’ “Abbey Road”, Led Zeppelin’s “IV”, and The Who’s “Who’s Next”. Tickets are on sale now at the WorkPlay box office, www.tickets.blackjacketsymphony.com or by calling 205-775-1110.
In it’s first three years, the Black Jacket Symphony has sold over 10,000 tickets in Birmingham alone and has expanded into markets in Georgia and Tennessee. In addition to selling out multiple night runs at WorkPlay, they have performed to sold-out audiences at the Alabama Theatre and historic Sloss Furnaces.
The Black Jacket Symphony offers a unique concert experience by recreating classic albums in a live performance setting with a first class lighting and video production. A selected album is performed in its entirety by a group of hand-picked musicians specifically selected for each album. With no sonic detail being overlooked, the musicians do whatever it takes to musically reproduce the album. Following the album and a brief intermission, the Black Jacket Symphony returns to the stage to perform a collection of greatest hits by the evening's artist.
